Adult Bereavement Support

Groups are facilitated by specially trained, caring and understanding bereavement volunteers.

VON Volunteers assist participants to measure their blood pressure at free, drop in style clinics.

Skilled and compassionate VON professionals provide information, education and emotional support to family caregivers.

Children’s Bereavement Support

Kids’ Circle Program provides supportive care to children aged 5-11 who have experienced the death of a loved one.

Home at Last (HAL) provides support to aging or frail adults as they are discharged from hospital to their homes, ensuring they settle in back at home safely and comfortably.

A light housekeeping service for seniors and adults with disabilities to promote independence.

Hospice Visiting

Hospice volunteers are specially trained, caring, dedicated people who offer their knowledge, experience and support to help the client and their family through a life-threatening or end-of-life journey.

Overnight Respite

Supports VON Oxford Adult Day Program clients with needs such as frail elderly, adults at risk, and adults with disabilities, Alzheimer disease, or other progressive cognitive disorders.

Share The Care ™

Peer support and discussion with educational video series, speakers for family and friends who are caregivers regularly providing physical, social or emotional support specialized groups also available for those living with Parkinson’s Disease and caregivers.

SSAH offers respite and support on an individualized basis to help primary caregivers by providing temporary relief support

Telephone Reassurance

Volunteers provide a regular check-in call to seniors and adults with disabilities living independently in their own home.

Transportation

Volunteers provide seniors and adults with disabilities transportation to medical appointments, adult day programs, social recreational outings, and other appointments.

They accredit a wide range of health care and social services providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, clinics, and community health programs. Accreditation Canada has been helping providers improve health care quality and safety for more than 55 years.
