Hike for Hospice 2022

The 2022 Virtual Hike for Hospice will be returning in person on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

We also invite you to hike however you want, wherever you are, and join us on social media by sharing how you are hiking and who you are hiking for using the hashtag #HikeForSakura

Our Hike for Hospice has been a community supported event in Oxford County for 20 years! We are happy to announce that this year, for the first time since the pandemic, we are planning for a live event at Roth Park! For those who would prefer, there is also the option to participate virtually, or at your location of choice. This means you can hike, bike, walk, run, cycle, swim, canoe, or paddle board in your own neighbourhood, park, or lake. The options are endless and as always, all funds raised will go directly to Sakura House!

We need your support, enthusiasm and energy to reach our goal of $100,000. We know that these past two years have been challenging – we look forward to renewed energy and bringing teams, families and friends together to celebrate as we ring in our 20th anniversary of raising necessary funds for an amazing cause, Sakura House. Together we can reach our goal and ensure that our patients and families receive the very best hospice care possible!

You can hike has an individual or form a team. Hikers register for free and get a t-shirt and access to their own fundraising page, where you can start asking family members, friends and co-workers to sponsor you.

We can’t wait for you to join us! See you on Saturday, September 17th.

**Please note that the live Hike event is subject to change based on most current public health recommendations.

Memorial Tree

Hike for Hospice is not only an event to raise essential funds for Sakura House, but a way to celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have died. During our in person events we would have our memorial tree hung where participants can place a flower with their loved one’s name, message, and/or picture. Since our event is now virtual we invite you to remember your loved one in the following ways.

Visit our Hike for Hospice Tent

Visit us at our Hike for Hospice Tent during the above times and write the name of your loved one on a flower and place it on our tree. You can also bring a small picture to place with your flower.

Send us an Email

Send us and email with the subject line as “Memorial Tree” and include in the email, the name of your loved one, a message, and/or a picture to oxfordgiving@von.ca and we would be happy to place it on the Memorial Tree for you.

Colour a Butterfly

Print out these Memorial Butterfly Colouring Pages colour them however you like and either bring it to our Hike for Hospice Tent or email a picture to oxfordgiving@von.ca and we will place it on the Memorial Tree for you.

This event is made possible in large part because of our dedicated community of sponsors.
